CEO-UAB has organised a number of local and international symposia on various issues dealing with the Olympics and sport. On the ocassion of the Barcelona’92 Olympic Games, CEO-UAB organised various international events.

Within the framework of the International Chair in Olympism (IOC-UAB), five international symposiums have been organised in conjunction with the Olympic Museum of Lausanne and the IOC Olympic Studies Centres.

The activities of the International Chair in Olympism (IOC-UAB) also include an annual seminar given by the invited professor in Olympism. The seminar focuses on an aspect of the Chair's specific theme for that year and is mainly addressed to postgraduate students, and researchers and professionals in the field.

The Seminar Spain- Brazil in Olympic Studies: Olympic and Sport Values as a Research Object in Education and Culture was the result of a cooperation agreement between the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the University Gama Filho of Brazil, and received the support of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. The seminar had two sessions: one in Rio de Janeiro and the other in Barcelona.
