Documentary Holdings

The collection includes more than 5,000 monographs, 77 current journals, 725 videos, posters and photos, and 25 CD-ROMS on the Barcelona’92 Olympic Games, the Olympic Movement and the Olympic Games in general, and on the sporting phenomenon from a social sciences perspective.

Barcelona’92 Olympic Games: Over 1,300 documents on the Barcelona Olympic Games, including books, reports, working papers, leaflets, videos, press dossiers, etc. Of particular significance are the Olympic ceremonies and sports broadcasts video collection and the specialised press dossiers covering the 1988-1992 period.

Olympic Games: A collection on the Olympic Games, Olympism and the Olympic Movement. It consists of materials on the history of Olympism, official reports of the Olympic Games, documentation on candidate cities and academic books on various issues connected with the Olympic phenomenon (economics, culture, education, gender, etc.).

Sport: Publications connected with sport from a number of different perspectives: sports economics, sports sociology, law, politics, education, psychology, history, teaching, physical education, etc.

Reference and Loan Services

Reference Service
The CEO-UAB is open to anyone interested in accessing the collection from Monday to Friday, 9.30 am to 2 pm. For specific visits, please send us your request.

We accept requests from the world of academia by post, fax, e-mail or phone. If bibliographical work needs to be done or if something needs to sent by post, the respective cost will be charged to the person or institution making the request.

The weekend loan service is limited to students and staff at the UAB.

Users have access to photocopiers.
