In spite of the growing participation of women in the Olympic Games, the same is not found at high level sport management, where there is also inequality in terms of participation of men and women. In Brazil, a survey found out in 2004 that only 6.24% of the management positions were occupied by women in the 1,584 sports confederations (national level) and federations (state level). The research also identified the social profile of the women managers of top sport at national level (confederations) as similar to those of female Brazilian executives whose rates of participation in companies vary according to the position of the woman in the family and the presence of children. |
